Why we’re skipping this blog post

We’re not posting to the blog today.

Clearly this is not entirely true. We’re here now, writing this, to explain that we’re not going to write anything of real substance today. Why not? Because it’s October, and October is by far the busiest month for us. This October in particular is more jam packed with things to do than any we can remember. So in the name of transparency, honesty and keeping it real… we don’t have time to write a blog post. We have time to empty our inbox and not keep our couples waiting. We have time to edit last Saturday’s wedding photos, and work almost around the clock to have them completed as soon as possible. We have time to update our accounting books, package photo gifts, and design albums. We have time to photograph an engagement session, an elopement, two weddings, a styled shoot and film a promotional video this week. We have time to stay on track with our social media, making sure not to miss a beat in the world of what’s happening. But that doesn’t leave us for much time to do anything else, and if showering or eating dinner at the table is a luxury these days, blogging doesn’t make the cut. We do not have time to make ourselves look polished, put together, and fashionable today. We do not have the time or energy to put on the “perfect” facade today.

So if you see Maggie dropping Sweet Cheeks off at school in yesterday’s yoga pants and a baseball cap just wave and smile. And if you see Betty at the drive through line again, picking up another quick bite to eat because she forgot breakfast and lunch, just wave and smile again. There is no real balance when it comes to work/life in October.

So nope. Not going to get a blog post up today.
