Monday Minutes :: October 5, 2015

A new and gorgeous reception barn at one of our favorite venues, a rehearsal dinner Martha herself could have planned, a beautiful wedding that oozed elegance, and a completely rain free wedding day amidst forecasts calling for downpours… boy oh boy, what a weekend! It’s not often we spend the whole weekend with our wedding couples, usually just the wedding day itself is when we’re together. But Sarah and Mariano decided they wanted their rehearsal dinner photographed as well, and so they added that coverage to their collection. Our weekend started Friday night when we headed down to Woodlawn Farm for their rehearsal dinner with family, bridal party, and out of town guests. Sarah is a planner by day, so she knew exactly how to throw the perfect celebration, casual and elegant at the same time. We had a chance to mingle and get to know the bridal party before the big day, and since that group is one we spend a lot of time with on the wedding day, it was a nice treat to practice a few group photos! The next day we were back to Woodlawn Farm again as the girls started to get ready, and everyone was watching the weather. We knew the hurricane was not predicted to make landfall anymore, but we were still looking at a high chance of rain on the east coast from a different frot ahead of Joaquin. Every time we moved into a new portion of the photography timeline, we looked up at the clouds, checked the radar, and continued on with portraits. No rain. Just moments before ceremony time, the decision to try for an outdoor ceremony was made, and in a frenzy 100 or so chairs were lined up and put into place. The ceremony played out exactly the way everyone had hoped! The rain drops never fell, and although there was a lot of wind to deal with, we had dreamy overcast skies and a dry day. Hooray! The Bride and Groom were the epitome of classic, a dream couple to work with. Everything about this wedding was thought through, and organized to perfection. It was a weekend to remember!
