Rules You Can Break :: Engagement Rings

Rules You Can Break

Photographing wedding rings is an exciting part of our job. It’s always just slightly nerve wracking working with such precious items, that hold so much meaning, but getting those shots is very rewarding not to mention fun. We have seen, up close, our fair share of engagement rings. They’re all gorgeous, and fit to the right hand they are perfect no matter what they look like, the size of the stone, or the price tag on the setting. Really… you don’t need a fancy ring to get married, but the always classic engagement ring isn’t something we think will leave the mainstream anytime soon.

One thing we are seeing more and more of, are non-traditional engagement rings. And so in today’s little Rules You Can Break post, we thought we’d share this trend. Although most rings we’ve photographed over the years happen to be white diamonds, there have been a handful (see what we did there) of colorful stones too! Yellow diamond, blue diamonds, or even aquamarine gemstones like this current favorite of ours!

So be creative! If a blue stone is good enough for the Duchess of Cambridge, it’s good enough for us 😉 And you know the Brides who really break the rules are the ones who don’t feel the need to have a ring like this at all. No lie, but we’ve seen couples decide to invest money into a home rather than a ring. To that we say, rock on! (we can’t stop)

Happy Friday!
