Pinstripes DC Wedding :: Monica and Patrick

This was going to be the day. Our luck of good weather had run out, and thunderstorms were going to push the photos inside. Monica is a planner (just one of the many reasons we love her) and so we were lucky to have a great indoor photo location ready to go. We arrived to DC early, scoped out the hotel, and had our plan. We arrived to the gorgeous, light filled bridal suite checking the radar all the while. Then things started to change. The sun started to come out, and the radar wasn’t showing that ugly green blob anymore. Hesitantly the room started discussing the weather forecast, and finally Monica asked “what if we went with the original outdoor plan? What if we give it a try?” Suddenly, the 80% chance of dark clouds and strong thunderstorms was gone, and we were looking at a partly cloudy skies with no chance of rain. Hooray! The indoor photo plan was thrown out, and the original plan of shooting along the C&O canal, which was high on the couple’s list of priorities, was back on! We were amazed all day at how gorgeous the weather turned out to be. Even more than the weather, we were in awe of this couple. Monica and Patrick have loving, compassionate, passionate souls. In one of the most touching ceremonies we’ve ever seen, the couple chose to have their “reading” be an excerpt from a federal court’s ruling on marriage equality. It was an amazing thing to witness. Watching these two acknowledge the need for marriage equality within their own ceremony brought us to tears, and we couldn’t be more proud to say we worked with such a couple. Not to mention… it was a beautiful wedding and awesome day! Take a look…

Monica and Patrick, we can’t tell you enough how happy we are for you! Weather and pretty pictures don’t matter when the day is done, as long as you get to marry your person. But… it’s always nice to have the day you dream of, and we’re so glad it happened the way you had hoped. Thank you for letting us into your lives, and for being so wonderful to work with! It was an incredible day, and we’re just lucky to have been there. Congrats!!
