Business

What a weekend! Without any engagement sessions on the schedule this week, we were left with extra time to play. We researched ideas and projects for a styled shoot we’re working on, and worked with an amazing artisian who is designing a custom gift for our couples this year. It’s all so exciting! Then there was the wedding to prepare for on Saturday. Throughout the week, our eye was on the weather forecast and at times things were not looking good. There were points where we honestly thought we would have to go to a full out rain plan. So we ordered extra storm jackets for our cameras, bought a few extra umbrellas for the bridal party, and got out our ponchos. Between the Bride, the planner, and ourselves… a lot of prayers went up asking for a rain free afternoon!

We’re so thankful that the rain held out! In fact, Adriana and Tony had an absolutely gorgeous wedding day! The sun was shining, the air was warm but not too hot, and the breeze off the water at Woodlawn Farm was perfect. The entire day was giving us just what we had hoped for, all the way until the sunset session even! We were watching the radar all day long, and around dinner time we realized a big storm was coming and could swing over the reception tent without much warning. So… we asked the couple if they were willing to push their sunset session up by an hour. They were champs, and decided to get it out of the way just in case the rain hit earlier than expected. As the night went on, the storm creeped closer and their planner made sure to cut the cake then drop the sides of the tent just in time! The rain literally held out until the very last song of the night. With one clap of thunder and one bolt of lighting, the storm rushed in with strong winds and sheets of rain. The last song was playing, and everyone was jumping up and down, singing along with the Bride and Groom when BAM! the lightning flashed once more and the power went out. Right in the middle of the chorus. Without missing a word or skipping a beat, the crowd continued to sing at the top of their lungs “Oooooh oooooh shut up and dance with me!” And it was perfect.

Here’s a quick look from Adriana and Tony’s wedding day, we can’t wait to share more with you later in the week!
