Spring Style

Uncategorized

Every year the same thing happens. Around Valentine’s Day we start to look ahead at Spring and all the amazing weddings in our near future. Our official wedding season is just around the corner and we start to get pumped. Then… we realize we’ve been wearing yoga pants and hoodies for the past 3 months and in a matter of weeks we’ll have to look good in our skinny pants. Panic attack: engage! Time to hit the gym a little more frequently and snack a little less frequently (can we get an amen?!). But it will be just fine. With a little Pinterest inspiration and a few hours of retail therapy we’ll have our spring wedding closet ready to go.

A lot of Brides ask us what we typically wear to a wedding. Our answer is always this:

1. We wear clothes that are polished and professional.

2. We wear clothes we can move in, so we’re able to get the shots we want without flashing any of your guests or ripping the seam of our pants.

3. We wear adorable flat shoes so we’re still able to walk at 8pm.

4. We wear color. That’s right, COLOR! No black on black on black with a blazer. To us, that look is a little old school and screams “hi, we’re the wedding photographers!”. We want to blend in as best we can with your guests. Although black does sneak into our wardrobe from time to time from a fashion point of view, we strive to “go” with the theme, formality, and color scheme of each wedding we document. When we look like we belong, we’re treated like we belong, and the day goes off wonderfully.

So, after doing a little online shopping from home on this snow day, we’ve each decided on our “go to” look for our upcoming spring weddings. If you happen to be at one, you’ll see us wearing something (exactly) like this…

Our offices were NOT closed today due to the snow. Our bosses really work us hard 😉 Come back tomorrow for more photos from Sara and Matt’s Old Town Alexandria engagement session!
