In this industry you have to be a planner. Your mind must be able to look ahead, know what’s coming, and plan for it. With the average length of an engagement creeping up to 14 months for some couples, we have learned to make plans early. Our couples are planning their weddings 12 to 18 months in advance, which means our calendar fills 12 to 18 months in advance. Some folks may not like extended planning time table, but we are grateful for it. Having our weekends lined up that far out means we can schedule some “off” weekends in there too, and give our family plenty of time to schedule their own work/life calendar. Beyond any logistics though, we’re just lucky to be working. Every couple who joins the BOAF family and secures a date with us is one more dream job. One more chance to do what we love. As we look ahead to 2015 today, we realize how incredibly lucky we are.
Which brings us to our point!
Dates in 2015 are narrowing down, and at this point they are very limited. Because we want to make sure we give the very best experience to our couples, we limit our weddings each year to just 30. It’s a decision we made a long time ago when we never thought we’d ever come close to reaching that number in a year. But as the years went on and the business grew, we kept our promise to ourselves and our couples. Photo turn around time is a huge part of our client experience, and spreading ourselves too thin with 50 weddings a year would slow us down. So… 30 is our magic number and in 2015, we’re almost there. With just 7 weddings to go until we hit our limit we wanted to make sure interested couples were aware of the limited dates. So often we hear from couples who are shocked our dates filled so quickly (and trust us, we are too). So today this post is intended to make sure we keep you updated on the status of our 2015 calendar.
