Fall on the water in Southern Maryland is a time and place with a short window of perfection. Sometimes we only get true Fall-like weather around here for a couple of weeks before chilly Winter winds come by. Fall is such a popular time for weddings, and the rustic theme is a great way to incorporate classic fall details. But we wondered what a fall wedding along the water could look like. So we teamed up with our favorite vendors to produce a relaxed, elopement-like wedding inspiration with nautical Southern Maryland in mind, and we used the crisp air as a source of inspiration as well. A simple lace gown paired with rubber boots and knit accessories; a Groom wearing a fisherman’s sweater and knit cap; glowing sunset orange colors scattered throughout; the water, the sand, the sunset and the perfect fall day all came together. There were three “areas” we focused on. The first was the ceremony location with a gorgeous lace backdrop perfect for a breezy evening on the beach. Simple lanterns adorned either side and left the space simple and perfect. Next was the cake table, and after deciding we wanted to stay away from pumpkins the thought of using apples came to mind. The “naked” apple spice cake was everything we needed to top this antique ivory buffet along the waters edge. Votives were wrapped with knit sleeves and this small and simple touch was just right throughout both table tops. The biggest area we focused on was the lounge area. We had a wedding after party in mind when designing this space. After the guests have all gone home, the Bride and Groom could enjoy the rest of their evening by the fire watching the sun go down. Apple s’mores pulled in the apple sweets theme perfectly, and a basket of snacks made for two sat next to the antique settee in case the Bride and Groom get hungry. We want to get married all over again just to enjoy this scene! Take a look…
This is by far our favorite styled shoot to date! The vendors who joined forces with us to produce this work are incredible and we hope everyone will learn more about them. Here is a listing of everyone who was a part of this one:
