Well… it was a ridiculous weekend for us but everything about it was spectacular and more than we could have hoped for. After photographing Sara and Matt’s wedding on Saturday in West Virginia (which by the way was one of the most rewarding experiences we’ve ever had as wedding photographers), we got in a few hours of sleep then drove until the sun came up. We were even able to make it to the SWAK expo with enough time to eat something! The two of us took turns driving while the other talked to keep our eyes open. To be honest, we were more tired than we expected to be. We were hot messes, and we were exhausted. But! We had to put our game faces on for the wonderful couples we were about to meet. Brides and a few Grooms arrived before the doors officially opened, we grabbed our coffee and diet coke, slapped ourselves on the cheek to wake ourselves up a bit, and got ready for them! This was the second year for the SWAK expo and it was fantastic! We had the pleasure of running into a lot of familiar faces and plenty of new ones. The couples and Brides we spoke to were adorable, and so sweet. Lots of prizes were given away and one lucky couple won a honeymoon! Woo hoo! (On a side note; we’d like to request vendors names also be put into the drawings for next year. A sunny all inclusive beach resort sounds delightful!)
After the show was done and we couldn’t stand up any longer, we packed our display away into the cars and drove home. And then… we crashed. We both seem to have fallen asleep somewhere on a sofa around 9pm. Monday morning was tough, but we made it through and now we’re pretty much back on track in terms of rest. And it’s a good thing, because this Friday is our official Open House to showcase our new studio in La Plata, MD. We won’t even begin to share with you the *way too long* TO DO list that we need to accomplish before Friday. It will all get done, and we’ll be excited to see everyone this Friday!
Between the two of us we managed to remember to take a few shots of the bridal show, and today we’re sharing those with you! Take a look at the 2nd annual Sealed With A Kiss Bridal Expo!
Oh… and here’s what our booth looked like this time around!
Thank you to all of the Brides, Groom, Bridesmaids, Mom’s and Dad’s who came out to the bridal expo and stopped by to see us. It was wonderful talking to all of you!
As we receive more and more inquiries for 2014 dates, our calendar is narrowing down for the year. As of today, we only have 8 open dates available in 2014. January through July is officially closed for weddings, leaving select dates in August through November open. Reach out soon to schedule a meeting at our new studio if you’re interested in learning more about us!
Have a great day!
