Chubby Cheeks and the avocado

Chubby Cheeks is 7 months old now. He’s getting so big, and we bet he’ll be crawling any minute. Goodness, how time slips past you! It was becoming clear that this baby was interested in food. No one could bring a spoon or fork to their mouth without his own mouth opening, and when you’d chew, he’d make a chewing motion with his own mouth. It was adorable but slightly heartbreaking. No, he wasn’t hungry (look at him) he was just curious. Chubby was so interested in food, he would cry and throw fits when he couldn’t have any of what you were eating (hilarious by the way). He’s been a breastfed baby since the day he was born, and we’ve been so incredibly lucky with how well he’s taken to it (Sweet Cheeks wasn’t as good at nursing, so we know how good we have it with this one). While there isn’t a true need to start solid foods, we realized there wasn’t anything holding us back. So the decision was made to begin introducing foods and flavors to the baby. Two days ago, Chubby Cheeks gave a smashed up avocado a try, and this was the result… hilarity.

 

Turns out, he loved it. Don’t mind the faces he made. He kept leaning in for more, and once we let him mush it up and play with it he continued to pack it in. So, we’re calling this one a success!
