Yesterday was Wedding Wednesday on the blog, but it was also Betty and “Big John’s” wedding anniversary. Their 37th to be exact. So today, the blog goes back to 1978. It goes back to a Juliette cap veil, silk flowers, and one adorable bobbed hair cut. It goes back to a gray tux, and a nervous Groom with long locks. A grainy film photo and a “classic” pose inside the church is the portrait we have to share of this wedding day 37 years ago. The beginning to their story, and the story of so many people. People like their children and grandchildren, who will never be able to express what this 37 year long marriage has meant to them.
