Casey Jones Shamrock 5K

Last Sunday, we had the privilege of being a sponsor for the Casey Jones Shamrock 5K Run/Walk. This year the event benefited Lifestyles, Inc. which provides services to those in crisis, serving those who are homeless, hungry or victims of abuse. Sunday morning we were up before the sun. We stopped into our studio for some coffee (because we keep it stocked) then walked across the street to Casey’s as the runners and walkers started to gather. Since this was a “Shamrock” run, racers were encouraged to dress in their best St. Patrick’s get up. The weather was gorgeous for March, and the atmosphere was pretty awesome.

Neither of us actually ran in the 5K… Betty was behind the camera and Maggie was keeping Chubby Cheeks happy. But Birds of a Feather Photography was represented! Sweet Cheeks ran for us! He was accompanied by his Daddy, who had a jogger stroller on hand just in case Sweet Cheeks got a little tired and needed a rest  😉

After the run, everyone enjoyed a delicious brunch inside the pub and restaurant. Gotta say… that was probably our personal favorite part of the day. We really worked up an appetite watching everyone else exert so much energy. Ha!
