Every year we like to find something new to send to our couples as a wedding gift. We never like to feel like we’re parting ways with the couples we work with, so this isn’t a “thanks for working with us” gift… it really is a “congrats on your marriage” gift! In years past we’ve tried to find something unique, fun and special for them, and if it can incorporate a photo or two, even better! This year we brainstormed and thought about brining in another local artist, and dear friend of ours to help. Shannon Wang is not only an incredible artist, she is also a local business owner in the historic district of our little town. Shannon is co-owner of Shop 53, an all female artist tattoo shop and art gallery. Yes that’s right… it’s the coolest place ever and you need to check it out. A two block walk from our studio down the street to Shop 53, and we can usually find Shannon out front, painting in the shade on a nice day. When we came to her with this idea of creating an original work of art for our couples, she took the wheel and blew us away. All we did was run this idea past her rather quickly, and soon enough we had “just a quick example” from her that was perfectly gorgeous. She’s just so talented!
So… if you can’t tell already, this year’s wedding gift is an original portrait by Shannon Wang, replicating the elements of our couple’s big day! When we finish the wedding photo gallery, the same day we email it to our couples, we also send it over to Shannon. She looks through, and puts her take on the day into a beautiful painting. We couldn’t be more thrilled with how they turned out! Our first round of gifts went out last week, and we’re so pleased that our couples adore them as much as we do!
