Running Hare Wedding Photography :: Katie and Dan

Katie and Dan are middle school sweethearts. Middle school! They are everything you hope for in a couple, and the way they love each other is joyful, comfortable, and kind. When you grow up together, it must make your relationship that much stronger, because Katie and Dan may be newlyweds… but their souls have been connected for over a decade. They come from wonderful families, their friends adore them, and watching this perfect in every way wedding day unfold was such a treasure. Katie got ready at her childhood home surrounded by her best friends. Dan and his Groomsmen waited patiently, but excitedly at the couple’s home church. Along the historic waterline of Solomon’s Island, MD they had a first look, and spent a few minutes taking group photos. It was time for their vows, and their ceremony was just beautiful. After a couple more photos in front of the historic church on the water, everyone made their way to Running Hare Vineyard for the reception. We had time for even more photos in the vines! The sun was very hot, and the fields were burning up, but this bridal party made it happen, and we worked quickly! Eventually we found some shade, finished up portraits with this gorgeous Bride and handsome Groom, then got ready for the first dance, toasts, and a special surprise. The Best Man was the Groom’s brother, and although he couldn’t attend the wedding due to a deployment, their Father “stood in” for him. At toast time, we were all expecting to hear a speech from the Groom’s Father and “stand in” Best Man, when a Face Time call came in direct from Japan! The Groom’s brother was able to give his toast himself! There was not one dry eye in the room! We made sure to get a “portrait” of the couple with the Best Man too!
