It’s the first official Monday Minutes of the 2016 wedding season! We’re still technically enjoying a “spring break” today that’s been full of work, but it’s all been amazing work and we’ve been having a blast! So far this long weekend, we’ve had the pleasure of photographing a huge styled shoot in Washington, DC, an engagement session at Catholic University, a surprise real proposal, and a beautiful wedding along the Chesapeake. Tonight we’ll be back in DC for another engagement session! Talk about kicking off the season with a bang! While we get to work this morning, editing photos to stay ahead, check out previews of what’ll we’ll be sharing on the blog all week.
On Friday we worked with some of the most talented wedding creatives in the DC area, and put together this Modern and Lush DC styled shoot. Here’s just a preview of all the gorgeous things we’ll be showing soon! Thank you to the talented team of vendors!!
After we wrapped on this amazing styled shoot, we drove over to Catholic University for an engagement session with Rita and Kevin. This is where they met, where they fell in love, and where he proposed. Naturally, it was the best place for their engagement photos!
As we were finishing Rita and Kevin’s engagement session, we had one last stop where the couple wanted a few photos. Mary’s Garden on the grounds of the university is the precise place where Kevin got down on one knee and proposed to Rita. As we approached the spot, we noticed several nervous looking guys setting out roses and photos along the garden. We asked if we could jump in for a few photos without interrupting, and they explained that they were setting up for a proposal happening in 30 minutes. Luckily, we were just finishing up with all of Rita and Kevin’s engagement photos, so we took those special photos for Rita and Kevin inside Mary’s Garden and just as they left to head out to dinner, the next couple was on their way! We ran to hide behind the trees and buildings so we wouldn’t be seen and like magic, another sweet Catholic University couple became engaged. The Groom to be went to the exact spot Kevin had explained was where he proposed to Rita, and as he got down on one knee, we snuck through the trees and captured the whole thing. We’re so lucky!
Saturday was a beautiful day for a wedding, and Megan and Jimmy were glowing. We just love these two, and we can’t tell you how happy we are for them! The day was just perfect, and because it was an earlier wedding, we were able to spend a lot of time with the newly married couple after the reception taking portraits along the grounds of their venue. Wow! What a weekend it has been! We did stop to enjoy Easter with our family yesterday which was lovely and a welcomed day to rest. This afternoon we’re heading back to DC for another engagement session, and the rest of this week we’ll spend editing (like crazy!)
