Elyse and Kyle :: Washington DC Wedding Photographer

All week the weather had us anxious. Forecasts showed high chances of rain for Elyse and Kyle’s Washington DC wedding. But wouldn’t you know, the morning of the big day the sun was shining and the weather was as perfect as you could hope for on a wedding day. A sigh of relief was had by all of us that morning. Once the weather was on our side, it was time to enjoy the day! Elyse planned everything, and we mean everything, down to the very last detail. Portraits in downtown DC, against the monuments was high on the couple’s wish list, and Elyse made it happen. She arranged for a shuttle bus to escort the entire bridal party, the couple and of course us around town. With approved permits in hand, we strolled right past security, up the white marble stairs of the Thomas Jefferson Memorial and the Lincoln Memorial. Everyone was having such a great time, and we had lots of it too! No one had to rush, and the bridal party had the afternoon to themselves to celebrate the couple in their own private party. Friends… this is how you take wedding portraits. 

Of course, the outstandingly gorgeous flowers, perfectly apricot bridesmaids dresses, killer custom suits for the guys, a glowing couple and a relaxed vibe helped make the rest of the day just as awesome. After saying their vows in a sweet, personalized ceremony the couple burned up the dance floor with their family and friends as the DC skyline lit up in the background. Elyse and Kyle… we wish we had the words. Everything about this day was so incredible, we’re still blown away by it all. But no matter how clear the skies, how perfect the backdrop, how gorgeous the dress, how delicious the food, how funny the speeches, how epic the dancing… this day would have been just as joyful if it had nothing in it but the two of you and your vows. Thank you for letting us be a small part of your wedding. Its not a day we’ll easily forget. Congrats!!!
