It’s no secret we like to send little gifts to our couples throughout the time they work with us. From the time a couple secures their date with us, after their engagement session, in the weeks leading up to their wedding, and after the final photos have been delivered… we send small tokens of our appreciation their way. We don’t like to share too much of our gift giving rituals on the blog, so the gifts remain surprises for our couples when they receive them in the mail 😉  However, there is one gift we give that changes from year to year, and now that 2014 has come to a close we feel comfortable sharing it on the blog! After the wedding day has come and gone, our couples have received their online gallery of images, then received their perfectly packaged archival flash drive with goodies and keepsakes inside, we always finish with one last “thank you” gift. Every year we search for the next perfect little token of appreciation that we think our couples will enjoy. In years past we’ve sent different kinds of gifts to our couples, all incorporating images from their wedding. This year, we found a personal favorite of ours… photo puzzles!
One of our couples had one of these puzzles at their reception, and used it as their guest book. Immediately we fell in love with the idea of making a portrait into a puzzle, and lucky for us this was one of the very first weddings of 2014. So we got in touch with Laura Braithwaite owner of Bella Puzzles and got to work. She is such an incredible artist, and one of the friendliest people to work with. Laura designed these custom, hand cut puzzles for each of our couples and we’ve been sending them out in batches following each month of weddings. The pieces are cut from sturdy wood, and the photo prints are just wonderful! You can find more information on Bella Puzzles on the website, check them out on etsy, and follow on Facebook!
We wanted to gift something fun to our couples, but also something they will find unique and romantic. In our nostalgic minds, we see these puzzle pieces being played with and put together by their children, and great grandchildren. We see our couples drinking a glass of champagne on their 10th wedding anniversary and breaking out this little puzzle on their coffee table, remembering their wedding day. We see these puzzles being just one small reminder of their love stories. Or at least we hope they’ll become that.
So there you have it! A look into what we sent as a final gift to all of our 2014 wedding couples. We’re still searching for 2015’s gift, and when we find it we’ll know it! For now, our eyes are peeled for the perfect little something  😉
