Christmas Tree Farm

Personal

tree farm 2014-6

As Thanksgiving break came to a close, we wanted to spend a day together doing something very traditional that would help ring in the Christmas spirit. To do this, the best thing to do… is go to a tree farm and cut down your very own Christmas Tree! So that’s exactly what we did 😉  We piled into one car and headed out to our favorite local tree farm. In fact it’s one of just a couple in the area that still grow their own trees. It was such a gorgeous day too, we couldn’t have asked for better weather. We got to shed our coats! Sweet Cheeks, as always, had a blast. If he gets to play outside, he’s happy, especially if he gets to run through rows and rows of trees. Eventually, we managed to find a good one that would go in his living room and would be the perfect tree for Santa to put gifts under. When it was decided, Stew cut down the tree and put it in the wagon. At this point, Sweet Cheeks decides he wants to pull the wagon with the tree in it, back to the car. Only about a mile away. We know how determined he can be, so we said “sure! go for it!” and figured after a few minutes of trying he’d need some help. Nope! We were wrong! This 3 year old child yanked the handle of that wagon as hard as he could to get the wheels moving, then proceeded to pull a 6 foot fir all the way to the loading station. We were amazed! Believe us when you look at these pictures… he did it all himself.

After a fun afternoon picking out his tree, Sweet Cheeks needed to take in all the warm weather possible so he ran around Paw and LuLu’s big yard until the sun was just about set. We had a little battery life left in our camera and snapped a few of our favorite shots of him to date. Oh boy, how we love him!
