If you follow the blog then you know last Saturday was our final wedding of 2014. We can’t believe another wedding year has come to an end! We’re so thankful that it was another amazing year, successful, illness free, and oh so fun. There are 2 engagement sessions left before we officially close our the year from shooting, and send our equipment out to be cleaned. All photos are edited, and flash drives of final images are on their way to the couples they belong to. Ahead of us in these next few months lie a whole new list of tasks to accomplish, none of which are as fun as photographing our couples. Taxes, equipment clean up and repair, book keeping, contracts, inventory, website upkeep and renewals, bridal show prep (don’t even get us started on how long this to do list is) and so many other less glamorous things. But those things will have to wait one more day. Tomorrow… tomorrow is our first real Saturday off in more months than we can keep track of. We’ve had a few Saturdays this year that didn’t include a wedding so they were “off” days but we filled them with sessions, consultations or vendor meetings. Tomorrow has turned out to be an actual day off. No work. Nothing on the schedule. And we have no idea what to do with ourselves!
(You know we have to add a photo to each post we do, and since there aren’t any photos of the two of us relaxing… here’s a favorite bouquet from this year)
We are so out of practice, we had to sit down and make a list of the things we’d like to do in order to do this thing called “relax”. Yes, we had to figure out how to use this gift of a free Saturday through the use of a darn list. Here’s what we came up with:
-Wake up and hit the snooze button without remorse
-Have breakfast while sitting down
-Put on some jeans and a comfy sweater, throw our hair in a ponytail
-Pick up some Starbucks, and actually finish the cup before it gets cold
-Spend some quality Mother/Daughter time together – Go to all those vintage markets we can never make it to on Saturdays, maybe even a church craft show
-Grab lunch, and talk about anything other than work
-Take a nap
-Spend the afternoon snuggling with Sweet Cheeks, and spoil him with a movie
-Cook a real meal, not take out
-Enjoy a long family dinner together without stopping to charge camera batteries
-Get in bed before 2am
Just thinking about it sounds so amazing! We can’t wait!
We hope you all had a great week, and that your weekend is even more awesome. We’ll see you back here Monday! There’s still a lot of blogging left before we go into winter work mode 🙂
