Things were not looking good in terms of weather for this wedding… at all. All day long there was a 50 to 60% chance of rain showers. The highest likelihood of rain was to happen at the exact time the couple had planned on doing their First Look and portraits. So we started planning. We bought extra umbrellas, Katie had her matching blue rain boots ready to go, we found a portrait location under a porch we could use in case the rain was just too heavy, and we knew our plan. After a relaxed and stress free morning getting ready with the girls, our gorgeous Bride stepped out of the limo at Colvin Run Mill where we planned on taking all the portraits. No rain yet. We had a beautiful first look, and still not a drop. Eventually we were moving through the portraits with Katie and Tyler and next we were onto the bridal party portraits. No rain! The overcast skies were perfect, the location was a dream, and the entire bridal party was so fun. We couldn’t believe it! The rain just never happened! When we moved to the church for family formals prior to the ceremony, we still had dry skies. It was simply amazing! After a truly beautiful ceremony we rushed to the venue to grab some “sunset portraits” that we just KNEW would be out of the question. The rain was eventually going to change our plans… or so we thought. Nope! The sun popped out for just a handful of moments giving us some gorgeous sunset photos. It was incredible. To say this was one of our most memorable wedding days is an understatement. We’ll always cherish the day we spent with this wonderful couple. Katie and Tyler wouldn’t have even noticed if the rain had actually fallen. They were too happy. And that’s exactly why, we think, the rain held out. Take a look at this gorgeous day…
Katie and Tyler… we can’t tell you how much it meant to us to be a part of your wedding. You are both so kind, generous, and loving. We are beyond thrilled for you! Your families were so warm and welcoming to us, it felt like we had known you all for years. Documenting your wedding day was a photographer’s dream come true. Thank you, so much, for putting thought and planning into your photos. We absolutely loved working with you! Congrats on your new marriage, and all the good that life is sure to bring you. xoxo – M&B
