Howdy! We’re back today after a really great weekend, and we hope you all had a wonderful weekend too! This past weekend is one of our most favorite of the year, because it’s the Charles County Fair weekend. If you grew up in this area you understand how special our fair is. There’s nothing quite like it. The public school system literally shuts down for the fair, allowing kids a Friday out of school to enjoy the entire day riding rides, checking out the live stock, and wandering around the exhibits. But before we had our fun fair day, we had the pleasure of documenting a classic downtown DC wedding at the outstanding Hotel Monaco. After photographing a lot of rustic, outdoor weddings (which we LOVE) it was an exciting change to be surrounded by classic DC buildings, and elegant hotel decor. Here’s a breakdown of our weekend…
Saturday was Jen and Mike’s wedding day! We arrived at the Hotel Monaco in DC hoping the rain wouldn’t cause us much trouble. Although we did have some showers to deal with early in the day, the sun came out and warmed up to a lovely September evening just in time for portraits 🙂 We just loved this classic and elegant wedding, and can’t wait to share the whole thing with you later int he week! After a long but wonderful day on our feet, we were ready for some fun and relaxing with the whole family. The “beach gang” as we call it, was all together again for our fair day. We rode the rides, pet the pigs, listened to the bands, and ate… we ate a lot. We also took some photos that we’ll have to share later this week.
