Things We Love :: “Real” shoes

Things We Love

“Paw” is the name we gave Betty’s husband/Maggie’s dad when Sweet Cheeks was born, and it stuck. He’s a sweet man, an amazing grandfather to Sweet Cheeks, and he always gives us great advice. Heck, he’s the one who really pushed us into starting this business! Speaking of some good advice he’s given us, all of last year we’d complain about how much our feet hurt after a wedding day. They would throb. They would ache! By the end of the season we could hardly walk the morning after shooting a long wedding day. Our feet had taken a beating and something needed to be done about it.

Paw was not happy about it either. Every time we complained about our sore feet or hobbled around, he’d yell at us for not wearing “real shoes”. He’d tell us “well no wonder your feet hurt, look at the flimsy little shoes you’re wearing! Get some real shoes for goodness sake!”

So we did. Finally, after 3 years of wearing cute little flats with zero support that caused blisters, we took Paw’s advice and invested in some real shoes. Our most recent wedding was the first time we wore these puppies, and boy oh boy our felt felt incredible! We could actually walk to our car at the end of the night without looking like we were stepping on hot coals. The next morning, they were a little sore but nothing like before. So thanks Paw… for giving us hell about the shoes we wore, and pushing us to finally put on some “real shoes” 😉

Of course, they’re not exactly the most fashion forward footwear. We searched for a while to find shoes that we could wear with dressy pants that didn’t scream “comfort shoes”. We think we did a good job, and frankly after feeling the difference we don’t really care that much anymore what our shoes look like 😉

Right now we’re loving Clarks and Naturalizer for their adorable and comfortable/supportive footwear.
