Beth and Jake :: Washington DC Wedding Photography

Beth and Jake had a brunch wedding on a snowy and cold Friday morning in Dupont Circle. Looking back at the many weddings we’ve documented, this one stands out. It was a wedding day like none other we’ve seen. Beth was more relaxed and calm than any Bride we’ve ever seen. She was incredible! She was marrying Jake, and that was all that mattered. An out of tune piano, and arctic temperatures were things she didn’t even notice.  A small group of family and close friends surrounded the couple as they said their vows. Happy tears were shed, blessings were given, prayers were said, and the love between these two was celebrated. The group dined on a delicious brunch menu and a donut cake finished out the morning. We were so honored to be welcomed into this group, and given the opportunity to document this amazing day. Take a look at Beth and Jake’s wedding day…

So the couple had planned on having a first look. Beth was just finished getting into her dress and we knew Jake would be arriving soon. Beth waited upstairs at the Inn for a Groomsmen to come and let us know Jake had arrived and was waiting for her in the lobby. Well… that didn’t quite happen. Instead of a Groomsmen coming up to tell us Jake had arrived, Jake himself came to tell us! He popped his head around the corner and without skipping a beat, Beth shouted “surprise”! It was actually rather perfect.

And it was a good thing Beth was around to help Jake with his bow tie 😉

When the 4 of us had talked ourselves into some snowy DC photos, we took a deep breath and ventured out into the below freezing temperatures. We have no idea how Beth did it!

We eventually forced Beth to put her coat on, and Jake too 😉

Even the bridal party was crazy enough to head outside for some snowy photos!

Once our fingers and noses had frozen, we all got smart enough to come inside to take a few more shots…

Time to get married!

Thank you, Beth and Jake, for sharing your wedding day with us. It was a blessing for US to have been there, and to have seen and felt all the love you and your family shared. Our hearts are full for you, and we know this life has great things in store for you. Congrats!
