Happy Everything

Today’s blog post is our Christmas Card, our way of wishing holiday cheer into your hearts and of saying “Happy Everything”. Merry Christmas! Happy New Year! Happy Birthday! Happy Festivus! Happy Hanukkah (although we’re late)! Happy Kwanza! Merry Tuesday! Happy Solstice! Happy day off from work (hopefully)! Whatever you celebrate this time of year, even if it’s just being alive today, we hope it’s a joyous day. To all of you, we wish peace, love, and happiness now and all through the upcoming year. May your days be merry and bright… always.

For us… we celebrate Christmas, and we LOVE it! Every single thing about Christmas traditions gets better with a two year old, and this year we are over-doing it with Sweet Cheeks. Santa REALLY outdid himself this year and we have NO idea where all this stuff is going to go. But we don’t care. For this short lived season in his life when he finds the magic of Santa to be just as real as anything else, we want to embrace it and create as many memories for him as we can. In the nick of time we made it out to National Harbor to experience their full on Christmas extravaganza. That of course meant waiting in line for an hour to see THE REAL Santa. Did you know out of all the department store and hotel Santa’s, the one at National Harbor is the actual, real Santa? Well he is 😉

We walked around the thousands of tiny white lights that lit up individual branches of almost every single tree in the hotel. We ooooo’d and ahhhhh’d at all the decorated Christmas trees, and marveled at the work that went into this production. We took hardly any photos and that’s ok with us, because we just wanted to be there. Here’s a look at a few we did manage to take:

Maggie totally got in trouble by the Gaylord people for sneaking into a blocked off area for this one… oops!

Sweet Cheeks was forced to stand still so we could get ONE photo of him at the hotel. To the left you’ll see his “this is dumb” face, and to the right you’ll see the face he gave when he was bribed with candy.

 

So there you have it! Our Merry Christmas, Happy Everything post. As today is Christmas eve, we’ll be gathering with family, living out new and old traditions, and making as much magic as we can for Sweet Cheeks.
