Kind Words

Hello again! Happy Monday! This weekend didn’t involve much shooting for us, but we were still busy with some behind the scenes work. Without a wedding or engagement session, we had the opportunity to design several albums, design new print material, do a little vintage thrift shopping, and meet with several new 2014 couples. It was a great weekend! In fact, two more 2014 dates are off the market and more will follow soon. Taking a look ahead we realized 70% of our 2014 wedding dates are already secured, and we couldn’t be more thrilled. From the moment we met them all the way until we got home from the honeymoon the relationship was professional and comforting. Afterwards the entire bridal party continued to complement the photographers and even more so once we saw the quality of pictures. From Kristin and Shawn: “I don’t even know where to begin. Having Maggie and Betty as our photographers was nothing less than a blessing. I know it sounds stupid, but just thinking of all they have done for us fills my heart. Our engagement photoshoot in DC turned out better than I could have ever imagined. We has such a great time taking them, and we got to do some site seeing during the shoot. We knew right then we loved these women! Plus, they got the pics back within a week! (Seriously, who does that?) My wedding pics… amazing is such an underwhelming description for them. They could not have been any more beautiful. I am not a girl that walks around thinking I am pretty but when I saw those photos, I felt beautiful. They captured every moment– the details, the vows, the people, the prayers, the tears with such grace. I began showing some people at work that asked the first couple days back and before I knew it, other people were coming up talking about how gorgeous they heard the photos were and asking to see them, too. You can just tell that they love what they do. They go far above and beyond any professional photographers I have seen. They did a wonderful job of organizing everyone during the day, getting the shots we needed, keeping everyone on track with time (which my type A personality very much appreciated), and still finding time to capture those moments that I didn’t even know they were around for. One of the most precious moments is already framed in my house. My grandfather fell ill during our honeymoon and passed a week later. They girls captures the most lovely photo of him in his little scooter and me bending down to dance with him during the “dollar dance.” There were a million things going on at one time and yet they still seemed to put it all on film. We will forever be grateful to Maggie and Betty. I HIGHLY recommend Birds of Feather to anyone that is looking!! (I have even vowed to fly my future children from Kansas City to DC for family photos some day) ;)”
