This summer we plan on letting Sweet Cheeks stay up too late, eat as much fruit as he wants (kiwi are his new favorites), and play outside all day. The evenings in the summer are our favorite. The heat of the day has passed, the streets are quite with just the occasional sound of bike wheels riding by, birds and planes fly overhead and we can all sit and just watch the sun fade. Sweet Cheeks seems to love this time of day too. He gets quite, he calms down, he’ll actually sit still. Last night we played some Bob Dylan for him, “Tambourine Guy” as he call it is a recent obsession. He snacked on a bucket of blueberries in his straw hat, and we just watched him. It was lovely.
Remember to slow down this summer every once in a while and pay close attention to what it sounds like, tastes like, looks like, and feels like. And someone please, remind us to do the same.
