What we carry :: our camera bags

We always get compliments on our camera bags, so we decided to share them with you today. When we decided it was time to get a couple of new bags to wear while shooting we did a lot of research and landed on Joe Totes. They got great reviews and seemed awesome, but to be honest we were a little worried they’d turn out to be “cheap” as their price was actually reasonable compared to other high end camera bags for women. Nope! They’re amazing! They are incredibly well made, and can take the beating we give them. We L-O-V-E them and use them on every shoot and wedding we photograph. Here they are…

Betty carries the yellow one, Maggie carries the blue. We went with their “Betsy” design. It’s got a hobo design and the top flap opens up to hold even more stuff. Keys, lip gloss, gum, cell phone… it’s a good spot for those things.

We aren’t usually “bag” people, and we don’t really need more camera bags, but these are so great we find ourselves searching through their new inventory a lot 😉

On an engagement session we usually show up with just these two bags, and the selected equipment we plan on using for the shoot. A Camera body and two lenses fit into each bag really well. Even the 70-200 fits well.

For weddings we schlep a lot more equipment along with us and so we haul everything to the venue in our old school, big, sturdy camera bags but then we load up these puppies for the day and swing them over our shoulder. They are big enough to hold everything we need (we like to switch out lenses frequently) but hug our bodies well so they’re not getting in the way and they’re not too heavy. It’s pretty easy to forget to take the bags off and usually we don’t.
