Monday Minutes

Our first wedding in October happened over the weekend! Even though it still feels like July, we were so happy to have warm sunny weather for Alex and Janell’s big day in DC. This is a wedding we’ll never forget, and having the opportunity to call these two people friends is the best part of all of it. Call it fate or faith… something brought them to us and we’re grateful it did. They said their vows under a canopy of green vines at Big Bear Cafe, followed by a joyful cocktail hour with their closest family and friends. Then, the whole group walked two blocks through the city, past iconic and colorful DC row houses to get to another historic building in the city for dinner and dancing. Old Engine 12’s 2nd floor ballroom, once one of DC’s original fire houses, was the coolest place we’ve ever seen turned into a wedding reception! A sparkler send off ended the night, and we didn’t want to leave. We’ll have more from Alex and Janell’s wedding on the blog later this week, but for now here’s a current favorite photo of this amazing couple…
