Old Town Alexandria Wedding Photography :: Lara and Seth

Sometimes couple’s just want to get married. Sometimes… they don’t want a big wedding, they’d rather go to the courthouse and start their forever without having to plan a big party. And sometimes, a small wedding in the city where you fell in love, kept simple, is the best of both worlds. Lara and Seth met with us before they had even started putting together the pieces of their wedding day. When we first talked, they were considering a courthouse ceremony with just each other, followed by a stroll through Old Town, and maybe some dinner with family at a local restaurant. That sounded like a gorgeous day, centered on this sweet couple, and we were on board! As the months went by, more and more of a “wedding” took shape and by the time we knew it, Lara and Seth were set to have the most perfect, simple, elegant, meaningful wedding day we’ve ever seen. Nothing was overdone or exaggerated for the sake of how it looked. Everything had meaning, even the flowers used in the Bride’s bouquet. The guest list was intimate, and the couple made sure they celebrated their marriage with the family and close friends they loved the most. Their brothers and sisters stood in as honorary “bridal party” members but even still… this day was about Lara and Seth. From the moment we met these two, we had a feeling their wedding day would be one that would make us fall in love with weddings all over again. It did. If we could go back and photograph this wedding over and over and over, it would be a dream. Walking through the historic, cobblestone streets of Old Town Alexandria with these two was such a treat, and their ceremony and reception at the gorgeous Athenaeum were wonderful. Lara and Seth… how wonderful was your wedding day?! We hope it was everything you had hoped for and more. Your ceremony, and especially your vows, were the highlight of the entire day. Watching you two hold hands and look at one another with such sureness… with all the love you have… that was special to see. Thank you for letting us be a part of this special day in your lives.
