Wedding Photography Timeline :: Where to Start

Tips and Tricks

timeline

It’s the time of year when we’re doing a lot of timeline planning. Weddings that are happening in the coming weeks, as well as those happening as late as the Fall are all discussing their wedding day photography timelines with us. This is something we do for our couples, they never have to worry or stress over developing a photography timeline for us.  Now this doesn’t mean we’re taking on the role of full on wedding coordinator, but once the major elements of the day are in place, we can help show our couples just how the photography will fit into their day seamlessly. There’s so much to consider when planning a timeline, and we won’t go into all of them today, but we will share a quick tip on how we like to start working out timelines for our couples.

After our couples send us a bit of information about their day’s events, their preferences, and other details, we create a photography timeline that is then incorporated into the overall flow of the day. The trick… start in the middle, then work our way outward. We always start with the ceremony! From there, we work backwards towards the start of the day. After that, we go back to the ceremony and work towards the reception. Why do we find this method to be the best for us? The ceremony is the one thing that cannot change. It’s the reason for the entire day, and it’s the most essential element. Naturally, we start there, and make adjustments to timelines around the ceremony.

Hope that little tip helps! If you’re one of our couples, don’t feel like you need to stress at all… we’ll do the work for you and develop a unique photography timeline that works perfectly for your day!
